Linda English: I'm never drinking again.
Joey Evans: First hangover?
Linda English: Why does it feel so bad?
Joey Evans: It only feels so bad in the morning cause it feels so good the night before.
~ Frank Sinatra wising up Kim Novak in Pal Joey (1957)
This thing's got nine New Jersey breds who haven't
_ _ _ _ ing run for at least one-hundred-seventy-seven _ _ _ _ing days. My PH friends, I can't
remember anyone ever saying, "Ya know what, C Dot? One-hundred-seventy-seven is my lucky number."
When thing's get tough the tough supposedly get going. I don't know anything
about that. What I do know is:
tonight, the Mrs. and I spent $185 (tax included) on Jap food worth dying for;
we had a great food/drinky time until I supposedly said something especially untoward,
igniting Mrs. Matters into a firestorm of forgotten love and ingratitude;
I'm _ _ _ _ing loaded...as I was before, during and after dinner.
10-1 on the ML, 24-1 on the current PH tote, Rough Road Ahead's chances look
marginally better than my marriage will tomorrow morning; but infinitely better than you, I and
everyone else's chances of living forever and/or going to heaven and praising God forever and ever. Amen.
And oh yeah, before I forget. I hope my pal, Joey runs like a drunken _ _ _ _ .
"Every immigrant who comes here should be required
within five years to learn English or leave the country."
~ America's "Rough Riding" 26th president, Teddy Roosevelt
